If you're planning to travel west of Norwich this weekend, it's worth checking your route before you leave.
The A47 will be fully closed in both directions between Wood Lane Junction and Longwater Interchange from 8pm on Friday 31 July until 6am on Monday 3 August while contractors remove the Easton Roundabout as part of the long-running North Tuddenham to Easton improvement scheme.
The closure is one of the biggest stages of the project so far.
Once complete, traffic will eventually move through this section without stopping at the roundabout, helping create a continuous dual carriageway between Norwich and Dereham.
During the closure:
If you're travelling to or from Norwich, Dereham, King's Lynn or the west of the county, allowing extra time for your journey could help avoid unnecessary delays.
The work is part of a wider project to improve safety, reduce congestion and complete the dual carriageway between Norwich and Dereham.
While the temporary disruption may be frustrating, the completed scheme is intended to make journeys more reliable for local residents, businesses and visitors. |
