Will More SEND Staff Mean Faster Help For Norfolk Families?

New jobs have been announced, but families really want to know one thing – will children get support any sooner?

If you're waiting for SEND support, a job's announcement is welcome news.

But the question most families will ask is simple.

When will it actually make a difference?

More staff could help reduce pressure on Norfolk's SEND services, but only if the jobs are filled and people stay in them.

Until that happens, it's too early to know whether waiting times or support for families will improve.

There are a few things worth watching over the coming months.

  • Are the jobs actually filled?
  •
  • Are they permanent roles?
  •
  • Which services are getting extra staff?
  •
  • Do families start seeing quicker assessments or better support?

A recruitment drive is a positive step, but families won't judge it by the number of job adverts.

They'll judge it by whether their children get the help they need sooner.

Has your family been affected by SEND waiting times or support? We'd like to hear your experience.
